Chapter one · The harvest
Picked by moonlight
We harvest at night, when the fruit is cool and its character is best preserved. Crews work the rows by headlamp so every cluster reaches the winery at its freshest.

Chapter two · The oak
From Tronçais to Temecula
Every Monarey wine undergoes malolactic fermentation before it rests in oak. Our French barrels are coopered from 150 to 200-year-old trees in the Tronçais Forest, while our American oak comes from the forests of Wisconsin.
Toasted over open flame, each barrel adds its own layer of spice, sweetness and structure to the wine.

Grown from clone 337, the most famous Cabernet clone from Bordeaux, and the backbone of our blend.

At home in our shale granite soil, which closely resembles the Rhône.

The soul of Tuscany, grown for bright red fruit and a crisp, mineral finish.
